Herbal Medicine Making Intensive

Thursday – Sunday, May 18 – May 21 (10am-4pm)

Learn to make your own herbal preparations and keep grassroots herbalism alive! This hands-on medicine making class is a wonderful way to learn about herbs and their medicinal uses.  In this hands-on class, we will learn to use and make a bountiful herbal pharmacy from both dried plants and herbs fresh from the garden. We will learn how to evaluate herb quality and choose appropriate herbal remedies and preparations to create health and balance.  This class is designed to accommodate all levels of interest and working knowledge. The class includes a herb walk and ‘medicine show’ where students prepare remedies and do a medicine swap- everyone’s favorite part! {Students will be joining the Community Herbalist Program group for this Medicine Making Class}.

Students will take home the medicines we make in class including:

  • Herbal Teas (infusions and decoctions)
  • Tinctures (fresh and dried plant)
  • Infused Oils and Salves
  • Liniments
  • Poultices and Fomentations
  • Advanced Tincture Making Technique of Percolation
